our story

On the side of Longridge Fell in Lancashire’s stunning Ribble Valley there sits a shed…

This shed is home to artist Laura Brown’s paper-cut creations on ink and the base for her business Shed on the Fell. After gaining a degree at the Birmingham School of Jewellery Laura’s first love of drawing was rekindled when she returned to the North of England.

Her signature style emerged during winter evenings in front of the fire as her children slept. Deer, hares and robins were the first creatures to take shape, inspired by wildlife spotted on walks with her trusty chocolate Labrador Seb. After quickly selling out of her first batch of greeting cards Laura took the plunge to expand her range and hasn’t looked back.

Shed on the Fell prints and cards are now stocked in independent shops and galleries throughout the North West with a growing list of stockists. As the business blossoms it has become a family enterprise with husband Steve taking on a management role, allowing Laura to focus on the next collection of Shed on the Fell images.

To find out when the next flock of new artworks land from Shed on the Fell, feel free to join us. To see our existing collections please visit our online shop or take a trip to see one of our fabulous stockists.
